Eight years of quiet progress.

2018

Fourwheel is founded

Three engineers from Cloudflare and Akamai start building what they wished existed: an edge platform that didn't require a sales call to use.

2019

First 12 PoPs go live

Initial deployment across North America and Europe. First paying customer signs up the day public beta opens.

2020

WAF and bot manager ship

Launch security products built from scratch. Behavioral analysis instead of just rules. Customer churn drops by 60%.

2021

Series B, $40M

Lead investor: Index Ventures. Use of funds: more PoPs, more peering, more engineers. Revenue triples.

2022

100 PoP milestone

Coverage reaches Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. We become the first edge platform to peer with every Tier-1 transit provider globally.

2023

Edge compute (beta)

V8 isolates with zero cold starts. Sub-50ms execution at p99. Three Fortune 500 customers migrate from competing platforms in the first quarter.

2024

SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI

Compliance unblocks regulated industries. Healthcare and financial services revenue 5x year over year.

2025

Series C, $180M

Lead investor: General Catalyst. Use of funds: Asia-Pacific expansion and the next-gen network. 14,000 customers across 86 countries.

2026

142 PoPs and counting

240 Tbps of network capacity. Median latency under 20ms. We mitigated more attacks last quarter than the entire 2022.

How we operate.

We don't have a long list of slogans. We have three principles that explain almost every decision we make.

01

Optimize for the worst case.

The median is easy. We engineer for the long tail of unusual: the slow path, the failed peering, the attack at 3am. If your worst day looks like our average day, we did our job.

02

Make the dashboard optional.

The fastest way to break production is by clicking through a UI at 3am. Everything we build has a config file, a CLI, and an API. The dashboard is for visibility, not control.

03

Invisible infrastructure wins.

If our customers think about us at all, we've already failed. Good infrastructure is the kind nobody mentions in the post-mortem because it just kept working.

Team

240 engineers, network operators, and security researchers.

Distributed across 14 cities. Available 24/7 across 5 SOCs. Backed by an exec team that's collectively shipped infrastructure for half the Fortune 100.
